2024 in the Art Barn

May 4th we will begin our 22nd season in the Art Barn! If you’ve visited before, you are probably already a fan of our Art Barn Membership. If you haven’t, let me tell you about it. Each day you spend in the Art Barn has an $8 studio fee plus the cost of your project. The studio fee covers the costs associated with the finishing of your project. For example, the glazes, firing, adhesives and grouting. You add the studio fee to the price of your project. We only charge one studio fee per person per day. If you are an Art Barn frequent customer, the Membership will save you money, as it is $39.95 for the whole season, all 120 days long.

Every year I try to look at the barn through fresh eyes over the winter and make improvements for your comfort and enjoyment. I know how many of you love to create on our patio, and to have your picnic lunches in the yard. I also know how there are times that the patio gets so crowded, and the rain can make areas on the patio unusable. I think we’ve come up with some improvements there, and I’ll be anxious to see what you think. We’re also adding another bathroom off the patio!

Finally, I’m adding another opportunity to learn a new technique in the Art Barn. In the month of June, I’ll offer a ‘Watercolor Wednesday’ workshop at 1 pm. No extra cost, just show up to learn. I love watercolors, with the soft brushstrokes and feeling of movement on the canvas. This can be a tricky technique to apply to bisque pottery because the minute your glaze hits the clay it is absorbed. I’ll teach you the way around it! No reservations necessary.
